Cross Country Ski Trip

Our Teachers Quorum just finished a cross country skiing trip to Scofield Reservoir this week. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Frandsen Lodge, our home for the trip.
After settling in to our accommodations we made our way to the mess hall for dinner and a briefing on sanitation.

It began to snow on us while we were out playing that evening.

Most of the boys (including Layton) were enjoying some night skiing.

Jacob was enjoying the diversions of the evening.

Our barracks for the trip.

After a warm breakfast prepared by the camp we hit the trail again. We had about 2" of new snow in the morning to help us along.

Our intrepid trail leaders pushed a new trail up the wash and then to the top of the hill.
Brother Shepherdson helped keep all the boys in range so that we could help those in need.
Ethan tearing up the trail.

One step forward and two steps back on the hill.

This was quite a steep climb, especially on skis.
A much needed rest stop at the top of the hill.

Face plant on the way down.
"I'm ok..."

We even had some roadkill.

And another face plant.

Ethan enjoyed a fun walk through the snow. It was faster.

Layton decided to stay fishing instead of joining our trek over the hill.

Zack was after the big one.

"Say Powerbait"

What a gorgeous view from the lodge. This was a fun location to camp.

We had a great trip. No major injuries. No frostbite. Just a great time with the boys. We didn't even have to cook. I am glad we took this opportunity, and look forward to doing more activities like this in the future.
